Jesus Heals Many: Physically & Spiritually
Jesus heals many who are physically and spiritually diseased or possessed in Capernaum. The whole city gathers at the door, bringing the sick and demon-possessed to Him, as the Sabbath ends and evening falls. The Jewish people believed that those afflicted were under the control of demons and that the only cure was to expel the demon. The scene from Mark 1:32-34 illustrates the power and compassion of Jesus in healing those in need.

The demons of Satan met Jesus in a spiritual battle and Jesus won. Many demons came face to face with the Son of God. Jesus shows His power & authority over sickness physically and spiritually over demons and Satan. Jesus has all authority.
Jesus continued to minister to the needs of the people in the city of Capernaum. WE are the church the hands and feet the body of Christ. We need to serve and minister to the needs of the people of Maynardville.
Why does Jesus not allow the demons to speak? Several Observations: Life Application Bible Proved Jesus had power & authority over them.
Jesus wanted to reveal his identity as the Messiah according to his timetable, not to Satan s. Satan wanted the people to follow Jesus for what they could get out of him, not because he was the Son of God. Jesus wanted the people to believe he was the Messiah because of what he said and did, not because of the devil s words.
Exalting Jesus in Mark Commentary Jesus wanted to avoid the impression of being a mere miracle worker or a magician. Those seek the attention for themselves. Jesus came to defeat the power and effects of sin in the world.
Jesus wanted to avoid unhelpful publicity to have more moments of private teaching with His Disciples. Jesus wanted to avoid the people s misconception about the Messiah. Jesus wanted to express His humility as the suffering servant of the Lord.
We dont like Jesus because He can do miraculous works. We trust Him because His death on our behalf, and His resurrection is for our victory.
Amp Version- Because they knew Him (recognizing Him as the Son of God.) Men may be confused to the identity of Jesus, but not the demons: They knew Him

HOW DO WE APPLY GODS WORD TODAY We can bring friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, to Jesus in prayer and everyday witness. Jesus has all authority and power over everything.
HOW DO WE APPLY GODS WORD We as the church body of Christ should minister to the needs of the people of Maynardville and the nations. We need to be telling people about Jesus and who He is. The Son of God, that people may know Him.
