4. 2. Current status in Asia and JAPIAs prospects 1958 Agreement (IWVTA) Deepened Transformed Expanded ASEAN MRA will start in 2021 ASEAN MRA is a first step toward Imagine World JAPIA is happy with this progress! 4/11

5. 3. Concerns about smooth launch of ASEAN MRA JAPIA expects smooth launch of ASEAN MRA. However we feel uneasy about the launch. Concerns of ASEAN MRA Introduction timing Various interpretation Test report description Could you allow us to share related knowledge from our experiences? 5/11

Suggestion by JAPIA Introduction timing (Example) Ratification period UNR Regulations Incorporation of MRA agreement into all national regulations Adopted UNR13,13H,17,25,28,46 in country A Adopted UNR39,41,51,79 in country B Cannot use these report in country B 2021 202X 2022 Effectiveness of MRA test report is limited until 202X. Suggestion -ASEAN MRA had better be alternative until 10 countries introduction. -AAC should set target date, and disclose the progress to the public. 6/11

Suggestion by JAPIA Various interpretation Example:UNR17(Seat) Requirement for non-use position (Example of OK Judgement) Shape of head restraint Labeling https://global.toyota/jp/ Legal text can be judged in various way. Suggestion It would be necessary for Working Group among technical services under AAC to share various interpretation. 7/11

8. 4. Suggestion by JAPIA Information sharing conference in 1958 Agreement Schedule 6 under 1958 Agreement Procedures for resolving interpretation issues Organization 1. Prior to UN type approval Approval authorities coordinate the information from applicants and/or other Approval authorities. WP.29 Contracting Parties -Approval authorities -Technical Service -Industries 2. Subsequent to UN type approval Coordination between Contracting Parties. 3. Cannot be the same judgement in country A and B .
