ISAWWA Water Ambassador Program Presentation Template

Instructions:

Thank you for enrolling in the
ISAWWA Water Ambassador Program
! Elected officials are typically not familiar with the
detailed operation of a public utility and are likely to be engaged with more visible municipal services such as public safety,
transportation, and economic development. Standard 1 is intended to provide resources to elected officials to help inform
their understanding of the industry and assist them in decision-making.
Presenting to your municipality’s elected officials
is one option to complete the requirements of ‘Standard 1 – Elected Official Education.’

This slidedeck provides a template to assist you in preparing a presentation for local elected officials. It includes
information that is applicable throughout Illinois – such as water sources and regulations – as well as prompts to help
tailor the presentation to your utility. For example, some slides include prompts such as “# of meters” and “insert picture
of water treatment plant(s).” Some prompts will not be applicable for every utility, while other utilities may need to add
additional slides; this template is intended to assist you in thinking about what information will be most relevant to local
elected officials.

Additionally, when applicable, the NOTES section (at the bottom of each slide) has script for each slide marked by
quotation marks or additional instructions marked by brackets. See the example in the NOTES section below. If you have
any questions, please do not hesitate to contact ISAWWA at (866) 521-3595.

Sincerely,
