Updated for 2019, the International Letter of Introduction (ILI) now includes Event Verification for Scout Groups attending International Scouting Events. The process remains similar, with options for individuals and groups traveling internationally. The ILI form is now fillable, and instructions can be found on scouting.org/international.

Explaining the International Letter of Introduction & Event Verification Form and Process (ILI)
New for 2019: ILI & Event Verification Consolidated + Streamlined The International Letter of Introduction (ILI) Form and Process have been revised for 2019 to include Event Verification for Scout Groups traveling to International Scouting Events. This revision allows the BSA International Department to better meet the needs of both BSA members and WOSM National Scout Organizations. ILI & Event Verification Request Form and Process
The 2019 ILI form is now a Fillable PDF! (download prior to filling out) The 2019 ILI form now includes 2 options for requesting an ILI: Option A: An ILI for Individuals and groups traveling internationally and would like to meet Scouts from other NSO s while traveling Option B: An Event Verification Request for Scouting Groups traveling internationally specifically to attend an International Scouting Event. (This option also includes an ILI for the primary leader of the group) ILI & Event Verification Request Form and Process For Event Verifications, BSA International Department will contact Event Host to ensure paperwork requirements are met. The process of obtaining an ILI/Event Verification remains largely the same, but instructions are included on the 2019 ILI form: Those wishing to obtain an ILI or Event Verification should download the form from scouting.org/international (Location on next slide) and follow instructions listed on the form: 1. Fill out Option A or Option B, depending on your situation 2. Get Scout Executive (or Designee) approval 3. Email or Mail request form to BSA International Department

Verifying International Participants at a BSA Event or Camp Protecting your Council and the BSA When inviting Internationals to your Camp or Event.
When you invite International to participate in your Event or at your camp, the International Department will verify those participants for you. Send an Email to International@scouting.org Let us know ahead of time! Can email names + NSO info when received Preferred: set up Registration step to automatically notify us Protects the BSA and your Local Council Ensures Validity + Safe From Harm Safeguards Verifying International Participants at a BSA Event/Camp
