  1. Hackathon. November 25, 2021 SAFE PLEASURE AFTER RAPID WATER TEST SPARWAT MARLEEN ARNTZ (RIONED & STOWA) This project has received funding from the European Union s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 101008626

Introduction Challenge - During the COVID-19 pandemic swimming and leisure in/at urban surface waters trended - Climate change accelerates recreational use of canals, ponds, ditches or small rivers close to urbanized areas - As non-bathing-waters , the quality isn t formally governed for swimmers health and safety - To prevent health issues we want tools for advice on the recreational use of these waters Solution - (Disposable) rapid testing devices indicating health issues as bacteria and/or viruses - Platform to share test results among (potential) recreationists 2 Thursday, November 25, 2021 Co-UDlabs Hackathon.

  3. Methodology Facility to be used - E.g. Universidade da Coru a Experimental plan - Develop and validate test methods for a wide range of health threads and to be used in different water types. - Laboratory tests to start - Field tests to validate - Development and testing of an user platform for citizen awareness and citizen science 3 Thursday, November 25, 2021 Co-UDlabs Hackathon.

Expected results Results: technology, knowledge, data and community - Validated (disposable) rapid testing devices - Less health and safety issues with urban surface waters - Platform for sharing results by users - Better awareness of water quality among citizens can trigger better water quality 4 Thursday, November 25, 2021 Co-UDlabs Hackathon.
