UMPALUMPA Condition Warm humid summers and cool to cold drier winters with wet periods July to Sept and Jan to March Summer temp 20-300C High level of soil moisture throughout the year even in the areas of sandy soil Some part of sandy soils experience winter inundation Spring and autumn are dry
LUNAPAIS Condition Early Summer temp do not reach 200C Late Summer temp between 25-320C Spring and summer have high humidity Summer is short and Winter is freezing temp Tomato growing is limited to summer and autumn Some tomato are grown throughout the year in glasshouses
TRIFOUILLI LES OIES Condition Summer high humidity Temp 30-420C Winter have rain with temp 18-280C Spring & Autumn are warm and dry Limited tomato production during summer due to high humidity and presence of pests Best production is during winter only.
Technical information provided to the importing country LUNAPAIS provided a list of pests of their concern as Quarantine Pest 1.Contorted foot pricker 2. Noplapus scalywingus 3. Occasional blotch virus 4. Partly obscured fruit destroyer 5. Red and yellow rat 6. Silly sedge 7. Sucker bug 8. Terrible plant biosecurity bacterium

Registration of farmers with sufficient digit numbers which include information 2.Training and GAP (IPM)/ICM) & GMP ( seeds & seedlings selection, proper drainage, sanitation, 3.Heat treatment of seeds over 40 0C to eliminate bacteria and virus.
System approach for QP Quarantine Pests System approach Production 1.Application of GAP (IPM)/ICM) & GMP seedlings selection, proper drainage, sanitation, 2. Synchronous planting and one generation only per year 3. Harvesting management by finishing the product before end of September 3.Heat treatment of seeds over 40 0C to eliminate bacteria and virus.

Store seedlings below 15 0C 3. Seed treatment over 400C. 4. GAP, Selection of fruits to obtain seed without contamination of weed seeds 5. Molecular and serological testing 6. Certification incorporating freedom from QP as additional declaration and treatments as special condition
