Anthesis, specializing in sustainability, customized the Footprint Reporter software for the Royal College of GPs in 2011, enabling GP surgeries to easily capture their carbon footprint. The tool covers key emission areas following Defra guidelines and offers a user-friendly interface, instant analysis, benchmarking, and future scenario examinations. It supports target setting, action planning, and provides resources for staff commuting, patient travel, and more.

Our approach Development of a customised software tool for the Royal College of GPs In 2011, Anthesis was commissioned to develop a customised version of its Footprint Reporter software, to include piloting and testing with eight practices, as well as developing a supporting website and materials. Anthesis also conducted a survey and undertook high level evaluation of data within the software.
Footprint Reporter for GPs Footprint Reporter was tailored to allow GP surgeries to capture their carbon footprint, without requiring complex data gathering processes. GP Footprint Reporter covers 6 categories: Business travel Commuting Patient travel Utilities Renewables Supply Chain These categories were based upon Defra s Corporate Greenhouse Gas Reporting Guidelines and focus upon key areas of GHG emissions for a GP surgery, including both those within it s direct control, and those that it can influence.
