  1. IMMIGRATION UPDATE Health Cluster Meeting 28THJULY, 2020

  2. INTRODUCTION The exercise of receiving returnees and patrols is continuing with the minimal resources available. Most people we are receiving are Truck Drivers and returnees mostly from South Africa and of course a few from other countries. We are also receiving chattered flights at KIA

  3. In Mwanza this week we received 70 returnees from South Africa, of which we managed them through Domasi. We also deported a Zimbabwean through the same and handed him over to Mozambican authorities who allowed him into Mozambique for no proper reasons In Nsanje during operations a Mozambican was intercepted at Ngabu with no travelling documents. He used Chikhawu crossing point due to lack of resources to man the point

  4. CHALLENGES Lack of resources for us to discharge our duties properly. We still request if there are any more Donors to assist with Hand sanitizers ,we really need them during these operations for it is very difficult for us to wash hands every time we help our clients. Lack of testing kits because we recommended to have our officers who have been on the ground for these operations to be tested.

  5. REVISED RESPONSE PLAN To restratigise our response ,we will (A)Enhance screening and monitoring of people (B)Enhance on border patrols to seal off all unchartered routes (C)mount permanent roadblocks in all the districts (D)Procure operation vehicles (E)Mount adhoc road blocks

  6. (F)Continue with marine patrols and (G)Procure enough PPEs

  7. APPRECIATION We would like to thank IOM, Central Medical stores through Supply Chain Management and Lilongwe DHO for supporting us with the Required PPES THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION
