: Impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, in
addition to existing needs, are addressed in the
ongoing humanitarian response.

:

Reprioritizing
activities (including putting on hold some
activities);
o
Adapting
existing activities to operate under new
constraints .

Aligning
the HRP with country COVID-19 Preparedness
and Response plans

Country HRP revision-Considerations
•
Prioritisation of existing activities :
o
Existing activities may be
unchanged, scaled-down or paused
for the remainder of the year.
o
Reflect on how COVID might affect the implementation of these
existing activities are doable in the new operating environment.
o
Which of your continued existing activities are also supportive of
the COVID response.
•
Include new activities :
o
Directly targeting COVID-19 needs
o
Can be activities which were not included in original 2020 HRP
because COVID-19 was not an issue then.
o
Scale up COVID -19 relevant existing activities.
o
Existing activities that are being extended to new caseloads
o
Are being
scale-up
beyond what was originally proposed in the
HRP.
Country HRP revision-Considerations

Data Sources :
o
New assessment if available.
o
Where there is no new assessment to rely on, make use of secondary
data and data from similar pandemics in other parts of the world to
inform their analysis.
o
Revised Needs Analysis
o
Revision of the HNO not required.
o
A more limited review of needs analysis to guide priority
decisions is required.
o
This will be done under the framework of country specific HNO
needs indicators.
o
Do a desk review of the figures that were used against the
indicators in original HNO/ HRP and update them with newly
available data or explain in a narrative format the direction you
each indicator has moved in light of COVID-19.
o
This will help in calculating revised PIN and targeting.

Two purposes in mind :
• Get ready for the upcoming country update of GHRP and revision of HRP for countries facing significant changes in terms of population needs because of covid19.
• Important for all countries to get ready even if no HRP update is due now, self-assess your preparedness level.
Hosted by Anteneh Dobamo, David Rizzi, and Victoria Sauveplane, the webinar discussed the launch of GHRP in March to address immediate needs of COVID-19.
