When Harry went into his garden he saw some new, green shoots coming through the soil. shoots
It is February. Harry saw that lots of new plants were starting to grow. leaves, stems and buds.
When he looked carefully, even the trees had started to change. I wonder what this is called, he said. pussy willow.
Harry tried to learn the names of some of the spring flowers, like these yellow ones. primula
These are very popular flowers for spring. Do you know what they are called? daffodils
Harry thought these tiny flowers were as white as snow. The petals looked like drops of water. snowdrops
Harry liked the purple flowers growing by the fence. crocus
Harry was surprised to see that some green shrubs had signs of new growth. buds
The trees had pink or white flowers on the branches. blossom
Some flowers on the trees looked like lambs tails, and wiggled in the breeze. catkins
