  3. Since 2000, Indonesian Muslim Women who wear a headscarf found everywhere not limited socio-economic and cultural status. Muslim dress is no longer a Muslim identity, but has become a social identity in the community not only Indonesia and even the world. This means that halal lifestyle in Muslim dress is expected to increase as well as the growing demand.

Yogyakarta as miniature of Indonesia, the Country with largest Muslim Population in the world Total clothing expenditure of Muslim population in the world reached 244 billion USD or 13.56 percent of the total Muslim consumer spending of 1.8 trillion USD (TR Report) Halal Fashion Bussiness and Women Economic Empowerment Almost consumer majority are women The economic empowerment of women is a necessity for a healthy state and a developed Economy.

  8. Efforts and Constraints The entrepreneurs should always improve the innovation and creativity associated with the fashion model that sold in accordance with the trend and consumer demand. Businesses must always follow the trend so as not to be outdated so that business continuity can be maintained. Business actors can expand their business with online sales services in order to expand their market segments both on the national and international scene. The constraints felt by the informant is the increase in selling prices with the increase in the price of imported raw materials. The goods are traded partly own production and some others take from other distributors. Besides related to the capital also becomes a separate problem for business actors, lack of understanding of Islamic banking makes them equate capital assistance in the form of financing in Islamic banks or credit in conventional banks.

  9. The role of Halal Fashion Bussiness to the Women Economic Empowerment The chi-square value is 34,381 with df (degree of freedom) and 95% confidence interval. The chi-square tabulated value is 3.84 where it is smaller than the calculated chi-square value of either 5% or 1% (3.84 <34,381> 6.64). Thus the null hypothesis which states business does not play a role in the economic empowerment of women is rejected, whereas alternative hypothesis is accepted, which means business plays a role in empowering women economy. Thus it can be concluded that the halal fashion business has a role in empowering women's economy in Yogyakarta.

  10. IMPLICATION For academics and practitioners in Islamic finance and banking can improve socialization to business actors in order to increase their understanding related to Islamic finance and Islamic banking system. Entrepeneurs should provide or organize special programs / training to improve the skills and quality of existing bussiness employees. Entrepeneurs should be able to take advantage of existing technology in the production process and in the development of their business. Entrepeneurs should pay more attention to the income, quality improvement of the employees, and the development of their business in order to further enhance their role, especially in the economic empowerment of women.
