Established in 1995 by St. Istvan University and key agricultural production companies in Hungary, GAK.GAK Godollo serves as a vital knowledge transfer organization in bridging the gap between university research and practical implementation in agriculture. Concept Concept GAK was established in 1995 in Godollo, by the largest agricultural higher education institution today St. Istvan University - and by several of the most strategic agricultural production companies in Hungary to serve as a knowledge transfer organisation to bridge the gap between university research, development, and the technical implementation and utilisation of the scientific results in practice. The University as service provider and the profit oriented agro-food companies former state farms and cooperatives, also acting as model and demonstration farms as possible users and transmitters of results and services of the University thus became "share-holders" in the same company. Its activities now efficiently support knowledge transfer activities, play a significant role in advisory services and the development of human resources, in the national and international flow of information, and the modernisation of innovation process in agriculture.

Main task is the development of relationship between national and international stakeholders as follows: providing agricultural extension services, professional and scientific advises establishing and operating agro-information networks and databases organising national and international exhibitions, fairs, shows, presentations, conferences providing intermediate and advanced level adult education training programmes managing innovation in the agro-food industry (research-development- demonstration- commercialisation)

Localization FAO Agricultural Ontology Service, translating AGROVOC thesaurus to Hungarian, ontologies and semantic web (WEB 3.0) applications, ITEM project, 2005. Consulting the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nation (FAO UN) in several projects to develop Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System (AKIS) content management platforms, Virtual Extension Research Communication Networks (VERCONs) in 2009-2010-2017: Armenia, VERCON type network: www.agro.am, 2011- 2017: Albania, VERCON type network: www.agri.al, 2011: Egypt, CMS training for FAO Near East staff

Significant infrastructure and major technical equipment: Demonstration farm sites, running the educational farms of the university, on over 600ha of land, crop production, pasture management, animal breeding, horticulture, bioproduction, hunting, equestrian centre, as fully operational agricultural units, with all necessary machinery, equipment etc. Experimental fields, with running research programmes. Farm adult education centre with practical examination plots. Head office with classroom for 40 and two meeting rooms, well equiped with audio-video and computer network facilities.

  7. Thank you: by Laszlo Gabor Papocsi Who has been leading for more than two decades the knowledge transfer division of GAK, dealing with agricultural extension, farm advisory services and adult education, with special focus on the use of ICTs. He coordinated the e-Farmer (eContent), SAFEFOODNET, FARMERNET and several other EU and national projects, acted as quality assurance manager in e- government and Leonardo projects. He regularly works for the FAO as international consultant, participating in the creation of extension, research and capacity development communication platforms in several countries of Central Eastern and South East Europe. Laszlo also has technical experience in IT development, as he devotes some of his spare time to provide software for farmers, being the programmer of the most extensively used online farm logbook system in Hungary, the e-client portal for bio producers, the buffalo breeders association, etc.
