There are 15 cookie jars, numbered consecutively from 1 to 15. The number of cookies in each jar is equal to the number of the jar. A move consists of choosing one or more jars, then removing one or more cookies from the chosen jars, BUT the same number of cookies from each jar.
For Example A move would be to: Take 2 cookies from jars 13, 14 and 15 OR take 1 cookie from each jar Or take 3 cookies from jars 3, 6 and 9
So.. What do you think we are going to ask your group to do ?????
You are to find the fewest number of moves to empty all your cookie jars. Your group will need a scribe to record your moves AND what strategy your group employed.
Is there a way to predict the number of moves for any set of consecutive number jars?
