At its core, the Fly Fishers International is the only outdoor sports non-­­profit
organization exclusively representing fly fishing for all fish in all waters. Our
core connection vehicle is education. We strive to be the best fly fishing
educators in four areas: casting, tying, fly fishing skills and conservation.

Original concept was to create a national federation of fly fishing clubs.
There were 12 founding clubs.
First Conclave held June 1965 in Eugene, Oregon hosted by McKenzie
Flyfishers.

Fly Fishers International is an international non-profit organization dedicated to supporting, enhancing, and preserving fly fishing opportunities through environmental stewardship, education, and conservation efforts. With a history dating back to the 1960s, they focus on educating individuals in casting, tying, fly fishing skills, and conservation. Today, they have grown to over 230 clubs with nearly 12,000 members in 44 countries, supporting various conservation initiatives, providing casting and fly tying instruction, and preserving the art and literature of fly fishing.
