Context We would like to sincerely thank all 4 contenders for having taken part in the contest 2 theses analysis oriented and 2 theses detector oriented We were really impressed by the very high quality of their work, making the jury's job difficult We decided to award two FCPPL PhD Prizes this year: - for Outstanding Detector Development Work - for Outstanding Analysis Work
FCPPL PhD Prize for Outstanding Detector Development Work Dr. Shan LIU, for her work on the development of a novel "in vacuum" diamond sensor scanner to measure the beam halo and Compton recoil electron transverse distributions at the KEK Accelerator Test Facility (ATF2); also serving as a low energy prototype of the final focus system for the future ILC and CLIC linear collider projects. Supervision: Dr. Philip BAMBADE (LAL) CONGRATULATIONS!
FCPPL PhD Prize for Outstanding Analysis Work Dr. Kun LIU, for his work in the ATLAS experiment on photon performance studies, the observation of the Higgs boson in its decay and the search of its Z decay Supervision: Prof. Yanwen LIU (USTC) and Dr. Giovanni MARCHIORI (LPNHE) CONGRATULATIONS!
