Background Of The Study OH: diseases absence, functioning of oral cavity (petersen, 2010). POH affects: work productivity, health, education, growth, quality of life Oral diseases : tooth decay, gum diseases, oral cancers, Congenital malformation, oral facial traumas, manifestation of systemic diseases. Oral diseases affect 3.9 billion globally. Account for 15m daly globally.
Problem Statement In Murang a county oral diseases burden constitutes 2% < 5 years Compared to > 1.8% nationally (Dhis 2019). The most utilized OHC extraction services at 73.9% While conservation methods at 7.9%. (Kanyi 2010) Third of Kenyan population have discomfort in oral cavity. (hiuri 2020).
Justification Few studies on utilization of OHC services Factors associated with utilization of OHC services Address poor utilization of OHC services Useful in research, planning, training OHC providers.
Research Questions WHAT IS Level of OHCs utilization in Murang'a county?. what are the Socio-demographic, economic factors influencing utilization of OHC services in Murang'a county?. what are the Health care system factors influencing utilization of OHC services in Murang'a county?. How does Knowledge, and attitude factors influence utilization of OHC services in Murang'a county?
Hypothesis The socio-demographic, economic, health systems, knowledge and attitude factors do not influence utilization of oral health care services in Murang'a county
Objectives Of The Study General Objective Determine factors influencing oral OHC services in Murang'a county Specific Objectives Establish level of utilization of OHC services in Murang'a county. Determine socio demographics, economic factors influencing utilization of OHC services in Murang'a county. Determine health care system factors influencing utilization of OHC services in Murang'a county. Establish the knowledge, attitude factors influencing utilization of OHC services in Murang'a county.
Significance Provide essential information to research institutions. The study can be used to improve OHC services. Training of OHC providers. Improve oral health in the country. Contribute to the big four agendas and vision 2030 goals.

Sample Size Determination Fisher, et al 1998 method will be applied in determining sample size of the study. (n=z2pq/d2) and collected for population of less than 10000. (nf=n/1+n/n). where: n-is the number of population. z-is the significance level of confidence at 95%. p-is the utilization proportion of 46.7% (moh,2013). q-1-p d- is the marginal error n=(1.962*0.47*0.53)/0.052=383 participants plus 10% to cover non response rate totaling to 421 participants. to adjust for a population of less than 10000 [nf=n/(1+n/n)] formula to get the sample size nf =the desired sample size when population is< 10000 n=estimate of population size nf =421/ (1+421/2361) =357+10%=393participants
Pilot Study and Pre-testing Gatundu sub-county hospital in kiambu county Kenneth Matiba eye, dental hospital in murang a county Ensure suitability, reliability, clarity of questions. Research tools, revised, finalized for data collection.
Reliability and Validity Validity ability of the study instrument to measure. review of tools conducted before commencement Reliability concerned with stability of the study results. ensured by pretesting study tools before actual data collection.
Data Analysis Data collection monitored and quality assessed. Quantitative data from questionnaires coded using SPSS. Subsequence data sanitized, analysis done. Cross tabulation and use chi square. Odds ratio test hypothesis, logistic regression to measure the impact. Data generated be presented inform of text, bar graphs, tables, pie charts.
Logistical and Ethical Consideration Ethical clearance will be sought from KUERC. Authority from KU graduate school. Permission will be sought from NACOSTI. Clearance from Murang'a county government administration. Administrators of various health facilities. Written consent will be sought from participants.
