  1. SPACE BY: LARA TAANI ,HAYA HAWARI, YASMEEN SAHOURY

  2. WHAT IS SPACE? The region above and surrounding our globe where there is no air for breathing or for diffusing light is known as space. space is an almost perfect vacuum, nearly void of matter and with extremely low pressure. In space, sound doesn't carry because there aren't molecules close enough together to transmit sound between them. Not quite empty, bits of gas, dust and other matter floats around "emptier" areas of the universe, while more crowded regions can host planets, stars and galaxies

  3. WHAT ARE GALAXIES? We live on a planet called Earth that is part of our solar system. But where is our solar system? It s a small part of the Milky Way Galaxy. A galaxy is a huge collection of gas, dust, and billions of stars and their solar systems. A galaxy is held together by gravity. Our galaxy, the Milky Way, also has a supermassive black hole in the middle of it.

  4. THERE ARE MANY GALAXIES SUCH AS: 1- The Milky Way 2- Andromeda Galaxy 3- IC 1101 4- Malin 1 And many many more.

  5. WHAT ARE PLANETS? An astronomical body orbiting a star or stellar remnant that is massive enough to be rounded by its gravity. Ancient astronomers named them planets, which means wandering stars . They are made of rock or gas and do not give out light. There are five planets that you can see with the naked eye. These are Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. They orbit the Sun, our nearest star.

  6. WHAT ARE STARS? When you look at the night sky you see millions of dots of light. The dots are stars. Stars are huge balls of gas that give out light. When you look at a star it might appear to twinkle the light seems to flicker. This is not because the star s light is not constant. It is because the light changes direction as it travels through the atmosphere.

  7. Q QUESTIONS: UESTIONS: 1- What does the word planet mean? Planet mean wandering stars 2- What are stars made of? Stars are made up of gas. 3- What are galaxies held together by? Galaxies are held together by gravity. 4- Why is there no sound in space? because there aren't molecules close enough together to transmit sound between them.

  8. Thank you for listening.
