  3. WHAT IS ALLITERATION? Alliteration is the repetition of the same sounds at the beginning of words. Alliteration is used in both written and spoken English. Here's an example: 'She sells seashells on the seashore. You can find examples in poetry, advertising and events commentary. It is often used in newspaper headlines to grab the reader's attention.   4. EXAMPLE OF POEM WITH ALLITERATION! Examine the poem neighbouring. Check out the different techniques used in the poem called John and his stars. Now have a closer look at line highlighted in orange that reads shinning shimmering stars shined bright . This is an example of techniques used is called alliteration.

Words that start with the same letter, for example cool cat. Task 2 You are going to write your own poem using the alliteration technique.
