  1. Environmental, Social and Governance Framework (ESG) October 2023 1

  2. Exec Summary ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) is a framework used by organisations, investors and other stakeholders to evaluate the sustainability and ethical impact of an organisation's operations and practices. ESG factors are considered beyond traditional financial metrics when assessing the overall performance and value of a company. Companies that integrate strong ESG practices into their business strategies often enjoy benefits such as improved reputation, thriving workforce, reduced risk exposure, access to capital, and long-term business resilience. As a responsible organisation with care at the core of it s values, Compass seeks to ensure it is providing environmental stewardship so current and future generations can enjoy a good quality of life and in working together as a community, we wish to instil an ethos of environmental and social responsibility to our children, colleagues and stakeholders. An ESG Strategy Group led by Senior Leaders will meet on a quarterly basis, informing the direction of travel for the overarching strategy. On a monthly basis, JW/SH will meet with Sustainable Advantage (our ESG partners) to hold ourselves accountable and review performance against targets. The ESG Policy has been updated to reflect current commitment and practice in relation to ESG at Compass. As part of our Social strand, we need to make a decision on which charity we wish to align ourselves to.
