Enumclaw Fire Department 3-20-2024 Chief s Report
Follow up/Information Segale Properties plans on opening a 990-acre gravel mine located in the Cumberland area Parcels are located within our Fire District and Kangley Palmer (KCFD 47) The mine would include an asphalt plant, asphalt stockpile, general office (1,500-2,000 square feet), maintenance Shop (10,000-15,000 square feet), truck scales and wheel wash, aggregate processing, general circulation roads, and stormwater detention. An average of 600 trips per day are planned The mine will operate 18 hours per day Public meetings have been held in Black Diamond, Maple Valley and at the Cumberland Fire Station.
Follow up/Information cont. The entrance and exit will be located off the Cumberland Kanaskat Road Mining is proposed at a distance greater than 200 feet from the Green River Geologic evaluations estimate that approximately 50-55 million yards of material are available to be mined The mine is scheduled to open in 2027 and be in operation for up to 35 years The routes trucks would take in and out of the mine are north on the Cumberland Kanaskat, North on the Veazie Cumberland to S 392ndStreet to NB SR 169 or across SE 400thStreet to WB SR 164, North on the Veazie Cumberland to SR 410. There are currently 18 gravel mines operating in our area
