Protect your devices Install the latest updates on all your devices Out-of-date software, apps and operating systems contain security weaknesses that make them easier to hack. Installing security updates on all your devices as soon as they re available makes you a harder target for criminals. Updates fix security weaknesses and can also improve performance and provide new features. Devices without the latest security updates installed are much easier to hack. Over time, manufacturers eventually stop providing updates for older devices or operating systems, which also makes them easier to hack.
