  2. How to use this lecture slide template These slides are designed to help Professors to increase the following in their lectures: 1) 1) Student Comprehension 2) 2) Ongoing Feedback. Please use the following instructions: 1. Use these editable slides and customize them for your lecture, including any written content, interactive videos/images and activities you want to share with your students. Also, remember to remove this page before you share. 2. Additional tips and support are provided in the speaker notes. These can be deleted as you fill in the slides. 3. We ve strategically ordered slides in such a way that students learn best try it!

  3. Hook This is an opportunity to meaningfully connect with your students on what they are about to learn/ assess what they may already know. Ex: Case Study Video Statistic

  5. Learning Objectives Now that you ve started the lecture on an interesting note and/or have assessed students for prior learning, you want to state what you are expecting students to accomplish. Learning Objectives should be actionable and specific to bridge the gap from students existing knowledge to what you hope they ll understand by the end of the class. Ex: 1.1: Students will be able to explain the importance of homeostasis in the human body including its effects on the body s physiological systems.

  11. Topic 1 Assessment Activity This is an opportunity to check for understanding to see if you should proceed to the next topic or if you need to clarify any information. This could be discussion prompts, polling questions, mini group activities etc. Ex: Multiple choice questions on a polling software Think-pair-share: partner discussions Exit Tickets: one of the questions could focus around each topic
