This action research focuses on improving students' ability to write and name chemical formulas.   1. Introduction This action research about the strategies to improve students ability to write and name chemical formulas . The problem indicated during teaching general chemistry course that students have difficulties in applying the learned concepts or properly understanding certain concepts or topics in naming and writing chemical formulas .

  2. Aimsof the Research To enable my students to name simple inorganic chemicals by their chemical formulas . To help my students to write formulas for simple inorganic chemical compounds more efficiently and effectively.

  5. My Strategies To achieve my goals, I focused on using three strategies Worksheet Home activity Mobile application

  6. First Strategy Worksheet solutions that solved by cooperative groups . The design of the Worksheet for the naming and writing chemical formula was divided into two tables. These tables contain boxes to write and name chemical formula. This strategy allows the students to share concepts and learn from each other.

  9. Second Strategy Each group requires finding ten household products that contain inorganic chemical compounds. This strategy helped students to identify names of different chemicals in their homes .

  10. Third Strategy Each student uses the chemical names application on mobile phone. This strategy helped every student be involved by thinking, writing, and learning.

  11. t Student grades in naming and writing chemical formula are improved and the improvement become obvious and very magnificent . Have a lot advancement to apply naming and writing chemical formulas on the complex chemical compounds Devolve from perfunctory thinking to deep thinking. My students became more confirmed and positive during questions
