Engineering Analysis and Design of Vacuum Snout for GEp - Project Overview
In this project, a detailed analysis and design process was undertaken for the vacuum snout used in GEp applications. The team, comprising of Mark Jones, Whit Sea, Joyce Miller, Chris Soova, and Alan Gavalya, worked on various aspects, including radiation analysis, engineering analysis, vacuum structure, and vacuum seal coordination. The project involved mounting the snout, creating a new opening in the old chamber, and detailing the large window dimensions. Structural analysis was conducted to address issues of exceeding the allowable limit, leading to the addition of stiffeners for reinforcement.
