  1. - how to take control and lead the change - A presentation by Danijel Loncar

  2. reason vs. the real reason conscious vs. unconscious logic vs. emotion "The truth will set us free. If we just tell people the facts, since people are basically rational beings, they ll all reach the right conclusions." *to frame is to draw someone in your worldview* We think in frames!

  3. Facts can't change how we think! To make sense of facts, they have to fit with our brain's pathways - otherwise, as they go in, they go right back out We are presented with limited possibilities for changing frames. When introducing a new language, it needs to make sense in the system of existing frames New frames must tap into our emotions!

  4. For a long time, Nature was framed as something separate from us Just like Nature is not only about nature, but rivers are also not only about rivers Rivers are framed as resources, to be tamed and used - a foundation of the modern world We lack frames to comprehend the reality of the situation - that our rivers are disappearing

  5. Take control of the narrative and tell stories we find important Less focus on 'loss' - its all about 'love' and 'action' Our doom and gloom scenarios only lead to apathy and loss of individual agency Let's tap the potential of AWE!

  6. "You develop an instant global consciousness, a people orientation, an intense dissatisfaction with the state of the world, and the compulsion to do something about it. From out there on the Moon, international politics looks so petty. You want to grab a politician by the scruff of the neck and drag them a quarter of a million miles out and say: Look at that, you a$$!" - Edgar Mitchell, Apollo 14, The Moon
