6. Objectives At the end of the workshop, the participant will be able to: 1. Develop a personal story that includes concepts related to interprofessionalism. 2. Identify how to utilize a personal story with students, colleagues, patients, families, and community members. 3. Integrate the personal story into a plan to educate and empower patients, families, and caregivers to have their story heard by healthcare providers. 6

7. Before you start What HC encounters have I had either as a client or a provider? What was the outcome? How did it make me feel? Could something have been done to make it better (achieve a different outcome)? Would an IP team helped the situation? Am I comfortable sharing this story? 7

Example: (from this workshop) To teach participants the concepts of educational storytelling so they can develop their own interprofessional story, and plan an educational activity while developing a storytelling toolkit. 12
