JESUS OUR EXAMPLE Christ is to church as husband is to wife Ephesians 5:25-30, 23 Jesus the bridegroom Mark 2:19-20
WHAT DID JESUS DO AS BRIDEGROOM? Provide salvation Acts 2:22-24 He knew our struggles Hebrews 4:14-16; 7:23-27 He showed His love for us Romans 5:8
APPLICATION What women need, Jesus provided: To be safe Jesus provided spiritual safety To be known Jesus knew our suffering and acts as mediator To be cherished He died for us and taught and healed many.
SO, WHAT ARE MEN TO DO? Provide safety Physical Financial Emotional Leadership
SO, WHAT ARE MEN TO DO? (PART 2) Know your wife Listen carefully Parallel to prayer? Consider it a blessing when your wife confides in you.
SO, WHAT ARE MEN TO DO? (PART 3) Cherish your wife Show her love and affection Show gratitude Bring gifts Date her Note to ladies: show grace and gratitude!
ATTITUDES Doing these things does not make you a hero. Luke 17:9-10 What if you get a poor response from your wife? Ephesians 5:25-30
CONCLUSION It is not easy to be a godly man. But it is a worthwhile endeavor! Men, let us follow the example of Jesus!
