Forum of exchange on the education sector Platform for more effective and better streamlined dialogue between EDPs and with MoES Enable EDPs to coordinate and collate joint responses & positions on sector related issues Enable EDPs to liaise with other relevant coordination mechanisms Discuss issues in preparation or follow-up of meetings with MoES and make recommendations Enable EDPs to contribute more effectively to joint review and monitoring of the education sector EDP purpose and objectives

Regular engagement with MoES at various levels to ensure continuous and open dialogue Identification of funding gaps and prioritization Close follow up of policies and implementation to transform the sector (TVET, Teachers, ECD ) Covid-19 response (task force, GPE, re-opening ) Safe learning environment, GBV response, National Sexuality Education Framework Budget process: joint work on the sector strategic plan, priorities and gaps + link with DEG Transition from DPG to PWG: on hold Inclusiveness of all EDPs is key: improved communication, feeling of belonging, active participation, permanent secretariat Strengthening links with LDPG & flow of information Prioritized activities, outputs and results

Use of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) to reinforce key messages Covid-19 to build back better the sector (or not) New policies tend to modernize education delivery Work more with local governments, DEOs, etc Non-prioritization of social sectors But prioritization of infrastructure, though benefiting education? Digitalization: risks and opportunities (Girls ) education to mitigate demographic explosion Refugees: more access to training and skilling to prepare for their future Skilling for jobs readiness and entrepreneurship Opportunities, concerns & gaps

  12. 3 key messages 1 2 3 Ensure adequate funding. Education is the best investment any country can make, certainly in a young country as uganda Improve quality of learning. Looking at enrolment figures is not enough, learning outcomes are more important Inclusiveness. No one should be left behind, the role of the GoU is to ensure equal access (girls & refugees) 12
