  1. Early College Experience Arkansas Arts Academy

  2. ECE Program Early College Experience (ECE) is a partnership between NWACC and local high schools. Students can earn transferable college credit saving you time and money. ECE courses have the same learning outcomes and requirements as the courses offered on the NWACC campus.

  3. Online Courses Classes offered in a variety of areas English Composition Social Sciences Communication Mathematics Science Students are required to log in each week to complete coursework Reliable computer and internet access are required

  4. ECE Eligibility 3.0 cumulative high school grade point average College-level placement test scores on the ACT, SAT, or Accuplacer. Aspire 10 scores may also be used. Approval by your high school counselor. If you are under 18 at the time of registration, a parent or guardian must also approve.

  5. Test Scores Must have qualifying test scores to be eligible. ACT 19 on Reading and English 21 on Math NEXT GENERATION ACCUPLACER 252 on Reading 260 on Writing 254 on Math QAS ASPIRE 10 428 on Reading 428 on English 434 on Math plus a C or higher in Algebra II

  6. Tuition and Fees NWACC provides a scholarship to each ECE student which means students pay about 40% of the regular tuition. Tuition is $30 per credit hour for those within Bentonville or Rogers school districts. Tuition is $54 per credit hour for those whose residency is outside of Bentonville or Rogers school districts. A Distance Learning fee of $22 will be assessed for each online CRN taken through ECE. Some online classes may also have lab fees, proctoring fees, and digital course material fees. Students are responsible for purchasing required textbooks and course materials. Payment for classes will go through your high school. You can withdraw within the first of classes and receive a full refund. After the first week of classes, refunds will not be given for withdrawing from a course.

  7. Additional Information ATTENDANCE - Students are expected to attend classes throughout the semester and must stay substantially up-to-date on their coursework. Students may be dropped for non-participation at the beginning of the term (11th day of classes) or at midterm (7th week of classes). Students who fail to submit more than 50% of the class work will be given a final grade of FP (Failure to Participate). ACADEMIC PROGRESS AND FINANCIAL AID - College classes taken while in high school are counted toward Satisfactory Academic Progress for federal financial aid such as Pell grants, student loans, and workstudy. To be eligible for federal financial aid (FAFSA) after high school graduation, students must successfully complete 67% of the courses they enrolled in and maintain a 2.00 College GPA. Grades of D, F, FP or W (withdrawal) are not considered successful completion. Students with Disabilities Academic accommodations and related supports are available to NWACC students with disabilities through the Disability Resource Center. If you have received Special Education Services (IEP or 504 plan) or if you have a disability or medical concern which you feel may impact your access to or progress in the ECE program, and would like to request accommodations during your time at NWACC, please contact the DRC at disability@nwacc.edu for more information.

Associate of Arts Program 10thgrade students can work towards earning an Associate of Arts degree through NWACC The Associate of Arts (AA) degree is a program made up of general education courses. This degree is designed to transfer to any Arkansas public four-year university. All classes will be online Eligibility requirements and tuition and fees are the same as ECE courses Course sequence fulfills the 60 credit hour degree requirements NWACC advisor will work with students as they progress through the program

  9. Program Benefits Earn an Associate Degree and High School Diploma upon graduation. Facilitate transition between high school and college. Reduce time and cost of obtaining a Bachelors Degree.
