Policy-based Governance documents Detail defined by organizational purpose Bylaws: The legal language that succinctly defines who we are as a church. Our Bylaws include the elements necessary to be recognized as a non-profit organization affiliated with the UUA and in the eyes of the State of Illinois. Bylaws Policies: Clear, concise, general statements that provide the framework for decisions and actions to be made in the context of who we are and the values we share as a church. They are the rules governing the implementation of processes and procedures by the Staff, Board, and Volunteers at DuPage UU Church. Policies Procedures: Procedures represent the detailed instruction necessary to implement policy. Unlike many policies, process and procedure should evolve over time as new tools emerge. Procedures
