Purpose & Background DuPage has been a leader in high quality education and for being at the forefront of educational improvement for decades. DuPage provided key leadership in the design of the current principal evaluation rubric which was designed from the ISLLC standards from 2008. In the Fall of 2015, the CCSSO adopted a revised set of standards call the Professional Standards for Educational Leaders (PSEL). Maintain leadership role as a group committed to promoting the profession, leadership and quality education.
PSEL Standards Development - Evidence Based It involved a thorough review of empirical research and sought the input of researchers and more than 1,000 school and district leaders through surveys and focus groups to identify gaps among the 2008 Standards, the day-to-day work of education leaders, and leadership demands of the future. Why Were the ISSLC Standards Updated? The profession of educational leadership has developed significantly. Why Were the ISSLC Standards Updated? ...Influence learning by: relentlessly develop and support teachers, create positive working conditions, effectively allocate resources, construct appropriate organizational policies and systems engage in other deep and meaningful work outside of the classroom that has a powerful impact on what happens inside it.
