  10. TRANSFORMER ENCYCLOPAEDIA NEW DEVELOPMENT IN TRANSFORMER TECHNOLOGY Amorphous core technology for DT Saturday, April 19, 2025 10 PROF. V. G. PATEL

  11. TRANSFORMER ENCYCLOPAEDIA NEW DEVELOPMENT IN TRANSFORMER TECHNOLOGY GRADES OF CRGO STEEL In India, Distribution transformer are manufactured using 0.27 M4 CRGO steel. The following changes in grades are suggested in order to minimize losses. a) CRGO - 0.27 M4 replaced by HI-B-0.27 MOH (Effecting reduction of losses by 16%) b) HI-B-0.27 MOH replaced by HI-B-0.23 MOH (Effecting reduction of losses by 8%) Saturday, April 19, 2025 11 PROF. V. G. PATEL

  12. TRANSFORMER ENCYCLOPAEDIA NEW DEVELOPMENT IN TRANSFORMER TECHNOLOGY c) HI-B-0.23 replaced by Laser grade 0.23 ZDKH (Effecting reduction of losses by 8%) d) Laser grade 0.23 ZDKH replaced by Amorphous metal (Effecting reduction of losses by 42%) By using better Grades of steel, the losses can be reduced by (16 + 8 + 8 + 42 = 74%) from that of the Conventional core transformer designed with 0.27 M4 Grade CRGO steel. Reduction of Losses not only minimizes the running cost, but also helps to reduce the Core frame size, thereby reducing the cost of winding as well as the cost of Oil. Saturday, April 19, 2025 12 PROF. V. G. PATEL

  13. TRANSFORMER ENCYCLOPAEDIA NEW DEVELOPMENT IN TRANSFORMER TECHNOLOGY Transformer life extension using ON line Transformer dry out system using super dry cartridges, without heat or vacuum, ensuring dry oil with normal characteristics and enhanced IR value of the insulation system of the Transformer.
