I am Bill Downie, a retired laboratory manager and charity
worker. In 1998, after half a lifetime of atheism I underwent a
spiritual awakening and became a Christian and Bible
researcher.
In 1979 I lived in Broxburn near Dechmont and well remember
the UFO incident, which caused a sensation in the area.
Since I already had an interest in UFOs, a lifelong fascination
with this case was engendered in me.

On 9/11/79 Bob Taylor, a forestry worker for the Livingston
Development Corporation (LDC), had a life-changing
encounter with an unknown craft, as he went about his work
around Dechmont Law. It became famous around the world
and has been the object of much speculation.
The incident has been one of many seen in Scotland in recent
decades. However, unlike others, this encounter with the
unknown left
physical traces
.
As Bob and his dog Lara entered a clearing on the north slope
of the hill, he was presented with an incredible sight,
illustrated below

As he took in this unusual sight the two smaller objects
emerged from the larger craft, rolled towards him and he
simultaneously became aware of an acrid smell.
They grabbed him near the top of his trousers and pulled him
towards the craft, as Lara furiously barked.
The next thing Bob remembered was waking up lying on the
ground, feeling weak and disorientated.
Bob crawled to his car, but then drove it into a ditch and
eventually staggered home to his horrified wife..
The incident was reported to the police and was quickly
investigated by Detective Ian Wark. At the scene he noticed
circular indentations on the ground, about 9cm across, and
two stacks of horizontal lines. The drawing he made of them is
reproduced again below.
Despite many hypotheses offered over the years, nobody has
satisfactorily explained those marks on the ground, Bob
Taylor’s account or the rips in his trousers.
For the last twenty-two years I have searched for numerical
patterns encoded in the Hebrew and Greek scriptures and
English language NIV Bible. This involved reading the letters of
these languages as numbers, the key to finding these patterns.
This work and my own interest in the Dechmont case, put me
in the perfect position to, I believe, correctly interpret Bob
Taylor’s experience and place it within a broader, apocalyptic
context. And what a context it is!
Here is the historically attested numerical substitution scheme
for the Hebrew alphabet.
The ninth letter,
tet
, with numerical value 9, has three forms.
Two of these align well with the markings on the ground in Dechmont.
Note the triangle of three circles on the left-hand figure.
The Crownlet
Tet
is one of seven Hebrew letters that are given crownlets,
known as
tagin
. These are three small strokes ending in dots
and placed above the letter, in the position shown below.
Here is the crowned
tet
beside the marks for comparison.
The horizontal lines
Another feature of the marks made on the ground on
Dechmont Hill is the horizontal lines inside each
tet
.
There are
nine
horizontal lines stacked within each
tet
.
Ninety-Nine

, side by side.

These both suggest the number 99, or 9 x 11.
99 = 9 x 11
The Date
Bob Taylor’s UFO encounter took place on 9/11/79.
Again the date suggests
9 and 11
.
These numerical clues point to an event that took place 22
years later:
the terrorist attacks in New York on 9/11/2001.
Bob’s Trousers
UFO researcher Malcom Robinson has the trousers Bob Taylor
wore when he was attacked by the spheres.
Each trouser leg has a tear near the top where they were
gripped by the spherical objects. Bob said he was lifted
upwards and dragged along. He ended up lying on the ground.
This prophesied the fall of the towers, hit near their tops by
the two airplanes before falling to the ground.

The terrorist attacks on 9/11, which destroyed the twin towers
and damaged the Pentagon, were encoded with elevens, eg,

The date was the 11

.
•
The first plane to strike was Flight 11.
•
The towers resembled an 11.
•
The towers had 110 stories above ground.
•
The towers burned for 99 (9 x 11) days.
•
Construction began on the Pentagon on 11/9/41.
Why 9 and 11?
In the Bible, 9, 11 and 99 have specific meanings.

endings, finality, judgment, fruits and suffering.

disorder, disintegration, disorganisation and division.
99
Seed, hidden, door of hope
Putting these ideas together, 9/11 can be seen as an event of
great destruction, division and disintegration (11), of
suffering and endings, the fruits of man’s own actions (9),
but also containing the seeds of new hope (99).
Bob’s traumatic experience anticipated and prophesied this
destruction and left a symbolic message by which the larger
event (9/11) can now be retrospectively interpreted.
The final key to understanding 9/11 is the inner (mystical)
meaning of the letter
tet
.
Tet is constructed from two letters:
vav
and
zayin
.
Vav
(6) is the number of man. In
tet
it is bent towards
zayin
.
Zayin
(7) is the crowned man, the Messiah.
So
tet
symbolizes man led by his higher nature.
Or. . . .
tet
can mean man as self-willed creature, symbolized
by the serpent.

Therefore
tet
can represent the two potentials within man:
1. the good inclination (man led by his higher nature)
2. the evil inclination (man led by his lower nature).
Dechmont Law
Why did the incident take place at Dechmont Law?
1. Biblically, the word ‘Law’ means ’Torah’, the book of the law
(The Pentateuch). These were the instructions by which God’s
people lived.
2. ‘Law’ also means ‘prominence’ and Dechmont Law is a hill
217 m in height.
217m is 712 feet. Both numbers use the digits 1, 2, 7.
On 9/11 three towers fell, in the following order:
Tower 2, Tower 1, Tower 7
Again we have 217
217 is a centred hexagonal number:
This is the
ninth
member of its sequence.
217 is also found in Bob’s birthdate of 21/7/18.
Centred hexagons are the 2D projection of cubes. Centred
hexagon 217 is the projection of cube 729.
729 is 9 x 9 x 9

Bob Taylor never deviated from his story, never sought
attention and his honesty and integrity deflected most of the
scepticism and mockery he was to face.
Perhaps this is why he was destined to have this experience,
chosen, albeit unwittingly, to report an encounter with the
unknown that contained a vital message for mankind.
Bob was in a sense a prophet in the way of Jonah.
The minor prophet Jonah lived in the 8
th
Century BC.
God asked Jonah to prophesy against the people of Nineveh
on account of their wickedness.
Jonah was reluctant and refused to go, so God had him
swallowed by a large fish.
Jonah prayed for rescue and God had the fish vomit him out,
after which Jonah agreed to go to Nineveh and prophesy,
saying
“in forty days Nineveh shall be overthrown.”
Similarly, Bob’s encounter contained a message
prophesying
and
interpreting
a disaster come: 9/11.
This is our last chance to repent and turn from wickedness –
ie be led by our higher instead of our lower nature - before
disaster comes upon the world.
Bob was more of an unwitting prophet than a reluctant one,
but like Jonah, he might have been reluctant to speak out had
he not had such an extraordinary and traumatic experience.
It is a tribute to Bob Taylor that he had the courage to speak.
