C ontentment and K indness 1 T imothy 6 :6 -1 0 6 B ut godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 F or we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8 B ut if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 9 T hose who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 1 0 F or the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. S ome people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

  3. C ontentment P hilippians 4:1 0-1 3 1 0I rejoiced greatly in the L ord that at last you renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you were concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. 1 1I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 1 2I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 1 3I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

K indness C olossians 3 :1 2 -1 4 1 2 T herefore, as G od s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 1 3 B ear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. F orgive as the L ord forgave you. 1 4 A nd over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

  9. K indness R omans 2 :4 4 O r do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that G od s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?

  10. K indness E phesians 2 :7 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in C hrist J esus.

T hey don t wash their hands before they eat! 3J esus replied, A nd why do you break the command of G od for the sake of your tradition? 4F or G od said, H onor your father and mother [a] and A nyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death. [b]5B ut you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is devoted to G od, 6they are not to honor their father or mother with it. T hus you nullify the word of G od for the sake of your tradition. 7Y ou hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you: 8 T hese people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. 9 T hey worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules. [c] 1 0J esus called the crowd to him and said, L isten and understand. 1 1W hat goes into someone s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.

  16. C ontentment and kindness P roverbs 1 8 :2 0-2 1 2 0 F rom the fruit of their mouth a person s stomach is filled; with the harvest of their lips they are satisfied. 2 1 T he tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
