  1. Course Information: Creative IMedia The Creative iMedia course will help you towards a career in the ICT or Media industry sectors. You will develop your knowledge of how to anaylse existing products, noting features of different media products and how these are used. You will the look to plan products to meet criteria, then put your plans in to working solutions, then evaluating their effectiveness. This course would be very similar to the project you have worked on planning and designing a website. There will be a need to cover both practical and theory in this subject and you will therefore NOT always be on a computer. Assessment: Creative IMedia Mandatory Unit Mandatory Unit Optional Units Unit R093: Creative iMedia in the media industry Unit R094: Visual identity and digital graphics Unit R094: Creating Multimedia Products This is assessed by taking an exam. This is assessed by completing a set assignment. This is assessed by completing a set assignment. In this unit you will learn about the media industry, digital media products, how they are planned, and the media codes which are used to convey meaning, create impact and engage audiences. Topics include: oThe media industry o Factors influencing product design o Pre-production planning o Distribution considerations In this unit you will learn to how to develop visual identities for clients and use the concepts of graphic design to create original digital graphics to engage target audiences. Topics include: o Develop visual identity o Plan digital graphics for products o Create visual identity and digital graphics Unit R097 requires students to create an interactive digital media product. Dos and Don'ts: Creative IMedia Do s Don ts You enjoy working on a range software types Pick this course because you get on with the Teacher You enjoy the idea of designing something and then creating a working solution of your design Don t pick this course just because you might have a group of friends that will be picking it You want to work in ICT Pick this option because you think you will be on the computer every lesson Pick this option if you did not enjoy the website unit of work this year. Beyond Heritage: Creative IMedia Potential Career Pathways Life/Employability Skills Further Education/Apprenti ceships Technical ability You will develop technical skill, using a range of software, some of which will be specialist. Problem solving You will develop problem solving skills which will allow you to be able to create solutions to meet the target audience and a specific purpose. Organisation You will have set deadlines to meet and you will have to carefully plan your time. You will learn about a range of planning tools which aid you with this. Creativity You will design and make solutions which should show creativity in making a personal response to the scenarios set by the exam board. Analytics You will analyse existing products, identifying features and how these work and use this to inform your own work.
