Be respectful of yourself, your peers, and the school environment. Being aware of negative self talk, learning about your peers, being kind, minding school rules. Be present by participating, staying engaged, and doing your best. Be focused, stay on task, work with others productively, use your growth mindset. Be responsible for your learning and with your learning tools. Keeping a calendar, making goals, submitting work on time, managing time and resources, using media wisely.
Ownership of Learning Students utilize metacognition and smart goals to be in charge of their learning outcomes. Understanding the content and how it is relevant to the real world. Making connections to prior knowledge, finding relevance in the world today, and our own lives. Maintaining a Learning Portfolio Using digital media as a means to show case projects, reflect on experiences, and communicate with peers in a productive manner.
In-Classwork and Participation Projects and Tests I am looking for students engaged in their learning; taking notes, asking questions, completing work. All in class assignments will be reviewed, but not always graded. Grades will primarily be derived from end of unit tests in Maths and English, and final assignments and projects in each subject unit.
