Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel (Lk. 2:13).
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests (Lk. 2:14).
Angels We Have Heard On High Angels we have heard on high Sweetly singing o er the plains, And the mountains in reply Echoing their joyous strains.
Gloria, in excelsis Deo! Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
Shepherds, why this jubilee? Why your joyous strains prolong? What the gladsome tidings be Which inspire your heav nly song?
Gloria, in excelsis Deo! Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
Come to Bethlehem and see Him Whose birth the angels sing; Come, adore on bended knee, Christ the Lord, the newborn King.
Gloria, in excelsis Deo! Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
See Him in a manger laid, Whom the choirs of angels praise; Mary, Joseph, lend your aid, While our hearts in love we raise.
Gloria, in excelsis Deo! Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
6. Gods favor rests on those who would a. Believe that He loves them. b. Understand that we are separated from Him. c. Believe that Jesus Christ died for them. d. Receive Christ.
The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace (Ps. 29:11).
You (LORD) will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you (Is. 26:3).
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives (Jn. 14:27) I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world (Jn. 16:33).
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say again: Rejoice! The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Phil. 4:4-7).
Finally, brethren, farewell. Become complete. Be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you (2 Cor. 13:11).
12. How do we live in peace? a. Peace with God. b. Peace with yourself. c. Peace with others.
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, Let s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about (Lk. 2:15).
