  2. S A F C A - 30 Welcome: Contractors you are the very reason for the existence of SAFCA. You have achieved 30 years of cooperating as contractors via SAFCA. FSA and Grower companies present as well as those who apologized due to unavoidable other commitments.

  3. S A F C A - 30 Welcome: Forestry Publications SA Forestry and WoodSA Associations and other Institutions NMU, US, Fitpa members and others Forestry Charter Council Chair and CEO FP&M SETA (a Great supporter of Forestry!)

  9. S A F C A - 30 A humble beginning Inaugural meeting at Kaapsehoop Asbestos mine (Friday 13 October 1989) 9 Forestry contractors (slow initial growth) Adv. Tom Dreyer as facilitator. Developing our Constitution Today: SAFCA (Insurance, services) and SAFCA NPC (Other business) Staff of 11 Group PL (protection) (For & Gen Insurance Brokers) 300+ members for the past 18 years (2019 = 313) Contractor cumulative employment: 28000 to 35000

  10. S A F C A - 30 Suspicion from two sides to trust SAFCA viewed as a union and perceived as a threat (unfounded) Trust must be earned and we realized it will be a long way! Contractors also did not trust growers (conflicting interests Rates!) Situation improved over time and in general all relationships are good. SAFCA wish to sustain good relationships with all our stakeholders while serving the interests of members.
