  2. Canadian Polish Millennium Fund Incorporated by federal Letters Patent May 8, 1964 as a corporation without share capital Governed by Canada Corporations Act, Part II By-Law Nr. 1 filed in 1985 Is a registered Charity

  3. New Law Canada Not for Profit Corporations Act (CNCA) was proclaimed in October 2011.

  4. New NFP legislation Treats not for profit corporations as if they were business corporations members have similar rights to shareholders in this model Members elect a Board of Directors The directors are responsible for managing or supervising the management of the corporation between meetings of members

  5. Purposes to promote and support interest in, and the study of, Polish culture; to promote the Christian traditions of the Polish Community in Canada; to support education in the Polish language in Canada; to assist Polish immigrants in Canada in their readjustment to the Canadian way of life; to establish scholarships for Canadian students of Polish descent;

  6. Purposescontd to provide financial assistance in the form of grants or bursaries to Canadian students of Polish descent; to provide financial assistance in the publishing of scientific and literary works related to Polish history and culture, including the history and culture of Polonia in Canada; to support Polish libraries, book collections, scientific publications, cultural exhibitions and reading rooms in Canada;

  7. Purposes contd to sponsor and assist organizations of Canadians of Polish descent and origin in activities beneficial to the community; to do all such things as are incidental and conducive to the attainment of the above aims and objectives.

  10. Kuratorzy Wyb r w Okr gach i Korporacji 1. Walne Zebranie w Okr gu KPK wybiera spo r d swoich cz onk w jednego kandydata na Kuratora na trzy letni okres. 2. Nast pnie, Okr g KPK przesy a dane kandydata do Zarz du G wnego KPK, z kopi do Funduszu Milenium. 3. Gdy kandydat jest delegowany przez ZG KPK jako Kurator Korporacji Milenium, bierze udzia w Walnym Zebraniu Milenium.

  11. Meeting of Members Quorum: simple majority Absentee voting: no proxies; participation by electronic or telephonic means Special meeting: Members who hold 5% of the votes

  12. Checks and Balances Committee Three persons and two alternates who are Members Chair has 2 year term Amendment of articles and bylaws confirmation by not less than of the votes cast by the Members

  13. Directors and Officers Directors - elected to a term of three (3) years - Qualifications specified - Each Class has right to elect/remove 1/3 of Directors - Voting: Deemed consent - Disclosure of interest Officers - President is elected BY THE MEMBERS from among the Directors. - Board appoints 1st, 2nd VP as well as a secretary and treasurer at the first meeting of the Board of Directors

CNCA & Financial Matters Soliciting corporation Mandatory appointment public accountant; audit and report Financial Year end December 31 Financial statements must be sent to members 21-60 days before the annual meeting** ** alternatively publish notice to the Members stating that such documents are available at the registered office of the Corporation and any Member may request a copy free of charge at the registered office or by prepaid mail.

Majtek Fundacji Maj tek Fundacji sk ada si z: Kapita u w asnego uzyskanego ze zbi rek w r d Polonii, imprez dochodowych, donacji, zapis w testamentowych, zysk w z inwestycji, sprzeda y z domu b d cego w asno i Funduszu, zapis w testamentowych (W. Bieniewskiego, S. Stanis awskiej, dr. J.S. Biskupskiego, H. Pier chalskiej i innych) oraz Funduszu p k. B. Orlinskiego.

  16. Zadania Kuratorw Kurator zapoznaje si ze Statutem FWM i przyjmuje zobowi zania wynikaj ce z zada i cel w Funduszu Milenium. W porozumieniu z Zarz dem prowadzi akcj informacyjn na terenie Okr gu dla spopularyzowania Fundacji w r d organizacji kongresowych i niezorganizowanej Polonii rodkami w dyspozycji na danym terenie (prasa, radio, zebrania).

  17. Zadania Kuratorw (cig dalszy) Organizuje akcj zbi rkow na terenie Okr gu w okresie ustalonym przez Zarz d FWM lub KPK Przekazuje zebrane kwoty do Zarz du FWM przez skarbnika Okr gu KPK i wydaje pokwitowania ofiarodawcom. Przesy a do Zarz du Funduszu Milenium w Toronto kopi pokwitowania z dok adnym adresem na kt ry FWM ma wys a donatorowi kwit na zwolnienie od podatku.

  18. Zadania Kuratorw (cig dalszy) Podaje terminy sk adania poda na subsydia dla organizacji, bibliotek, szk oraz stypendia dla student w do og lnej wiadomo ci przez komunikat w informacyjnych. Powiadamia student w o dost pie do formularzy zg oszeniowych z strony internetowej i sprawdza ich wype nienie. Wraz z prezesem Okr gu KPK podpisuje podanie (tam gdzie nie ma Okr gu KPK, proboszcz parafii posiada uprawnienia podpisiwania poda ).

  19. Zadania Kuratorw (cig dalszy) Sprawdza czy Zarz d Okr gu KPK rozwa a uroczyste rozdanie stypendi w i sugeruje by Okr g zdeklarowa si wczesniej czy chce rozda uroczyscie. Przesy a sprawozdanie z swojej dzia alno i oraz dostarcza materia y na stron internetow z uroczysto i rozdania stypendi w. (www.millenniumfund.ca).

  20. Powyszy krtki zarys Funduszu Milenium i zada Kurator w wskazuje na wa n rol Kurator w w zarz dzaniu Korporacji, w dysponowaniu / inwestowaniu kapita u i w rozdziale odsetek uzyskanych z inwestycji, przynosz cych niezb dn pomoc finansow organizacjom, instytucjom kulturalnym, dla polskich szk oraz studentom. Potrzeby stale wzrastaj a doch d z inwestycji jest od kilku lat bardzo niski. Dlatego powi kszenie kapita u jest jednym z podstawowych zada tak dla Kurator w jak i dla organizacji KPK.
