The California State Games have seen significant growth in various sports events over the years, including track, rugby, ice hockey, and figure skating. The addition of new sports, hiring marketing professionals, and implementing hotel booking policies have contributed to the success of the games. The State Tourism Marketing District (SDTMD) has allocated funding to increase participation, improve access to hotels, and enhance marketing efforts for attracting athletes and teams from across the state.
