Business CBA 2 Taxation in Ireland compared to the UK By Eshal Taimoor
What is Taxation? TAXATION IS THE SYSTEM BY WHICH A GOVERNMENT TAKES MONEY FROM PEOPLE AND SPENDS IT ON THINGS SUCH AS EDUCATION, HEALTH, DEFENCE AND INFRASTRUCTURE. TODAY I WILL BE DISCUSSING THE RATES OF VALUE ADDED TAX (VAT) AND CORPORATION TAX BETWEEN IRELAND AND THE UK AND THE DIFFERENT OPINIONS SURROUNDING THIS SUBJECT.
My Interest in this topic and why I chose it My Interest in this topic mainly developed because I often heard adults complaining about the high rates of taxes they pay and how it compares to the UK. So I decided to research the comparison of taxes between Ireland and the UK using desk and field research in order to gain a better understanding on this topic from different perspectives. Another reason why I was interested in picking this topic is because I greatly enjoy The Economy strand in our business textbook and I decided to chose this particular topic as I found Taxation to be a very engaging and intriguing topic to talk about.
