and

In
2013,
Mr. Manoj
Beeda,
son
of
Dr.

Masthan
Rao,
initiated
a
new
firm
for
overseas
shrimp
marketing
—
“Claswin
Seafood
LLC”
in
New
Jersey,
USA.
Later
in
2021,
Mr.
Manoj
established
a
domestic
meat
market
—
ISKAPO'S
FRESH
CHOPS,
in
Chennai
with
retail
stores
and
home
delivery
hubs.
Further
in
2016,
the
first
shrimp
feed
plant
was
established
followed
by
a
second
feed
plant
in
2018.
In
2016,
BMR
Group
was
permitted
by
the
Government
of
India
for
the
establishment
of
Broodstock
Multiplication
centre
for
SPF
vannamei
in
collaboration
with
Blue
Genetics,
Mexico,
a
subsidiary
of
Group
Grimaud,
France
and
the
first
BMC
of vannamei
in
private
sector
was
established
in
2019
at
Kavali,
Andhra
Pradesh.

Masthan
Rao,

founding
Chairman

Director

1998,
He

the
Doctorate
Degree
in

BMR Group of Industries is a vertically integrated group of companies that provides end to end solution to Shrimp farmers with highest degree of transparency and honesty. The first of these companies was started in 1991, as a shrimp farm culturing Indian giant Tiger Shrimp, Penaeus monodon, at Iskapalli in Andhra Pradesh followed with the establishment of tiger shrimp hatchery in Nellore in 1993. In the following years, more than 12 shrimp hatcheries were initiated by the Group. Because of the continued disease problem for tiger shrimp, in 2004, BM R Group initiated a pilot project of importing, Specific Pathogen Free Pacific White legged shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei. In 2009, Based on the success of vannamei farming in the Pilot programme, Government of India introduced vannamei for commercial culture in the country. BM R shrimp farms are dotted along the coasts of India in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Odisha and Gujarat. Shrimp culture, which started from a mere 25 acres in 1991 and has increased manifold to a whopping 900 hectares along with 500 hectares, under contract farming. BM R shrimp farms are also the largest ASC certified farms in India. Under contract farming the farms implement the latest in aquaculture technologies with strict bio security, nursery, Central Drainage system etc. The farmers are supplied with quality seeds, feeds and healthcare products apart from technical counseling by our competent team comprising of highly experienced field staff and technicians.
12 state-of-the-art shrimp hatcheries are spread over 10 locations along the east coast of India in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Most stringent bio-security measures are implemented to maintain quality and hygiene in these breeding facilities as well as to reduce contamination. Broodstock: Best quality broodstock is sourced from BMRBroodstock Multiplication Center as well as imported from overseas producers. BMC broodstock was tested for the OIE listed pathogens in Government agencies and also overseas OIE approved labs. The imported broodstock is kept for five days in Aquatic quarantine and tested for the OIE listed pathogens before releasing them to the hatcheries. Its activities cover health, education, empowerment of women, skills development, strengthening of social welfare hostels, housing, supply of safe drinking water, sports and entrepreneurship development trainings etc., He provided employment to 4000 youth in his group leading to their comfortable and secured life, improving their living standards and social status, paving way to a better tomorrow for them. HEALTH SERVICES: In health services to the rural poor mainly consisted of Medical and mega medical camps, eye testing, supply of free glasses and medicines to the patients, and providing safe drinking through the supply of RO plants. EDUCATIONAL SERVICES: Under education services, the trust contributed donations to the corpus fund created by the collector, organized free bus for remote rural students, providing tution fees for poor students from Primary to PG, Sponsoring seminars, conferences and workshops for colleges, and providing infrastructure facilities for schools and colleges. SUPPORTING GOVERNMENT SCHEMES: The trust provided donation to various Government schemes for rural poor- This included distribution of house sites to SC, ST, BC and Minority beneficiaries, transformation of Government schools into vibrant institutions, providing infrastructure facilities to Students' hostels, support for infrastructure develop- ment for coastal areas for construction of tourist resorts and constructing light house. SKILLS DEVELOPMENT TRAININGS: BM R charitable trust entered into an MOU with AP State Skill Development Corporation to promote skill development and entrepreneurship in Fishery sector for imparting employable skills to unemployed youth through placement linked skill development. So far more than 600 rural unemployed youth were trained and placed in export processing, feed manufacturing units in and around Nellore district. RELIEF OPERATIONS DURING COVID-19: The trust supplied essential commodities like rice and 6 main provisions for 50,000 families affected by the pandemic in Kavali, Kovur and Kandukur assembly constituencies at a total cost of Rs. 1.5 crores.
