  20. Non-Linear E Events

  21. Predicting the future future by looking at the past past reason why is precisely the reason Digital Disruption was invented Disruption does not respect history

  22. More data has been created in the past two years than in the entire previous history of the human race... times0.5% of data is analysed = ? plus Internet of Things Internet of Things

  23. S t a t e m e n t There is quite a lot to do . Death by Analysis Hands on Learning Get your head under the hood

  24. Privacy The age of Consent Complex Outcomes Narrow Outcomes Requires high trust [eg Government] Relatively low trust [eg Social Media] Low & complex consent constrains outcomes High & simple consent but unjoined actions

  25. Confidence Data Data W e m a y h a v e a l o t m o r e o f i t , and we may be able to correlate many more data sources, but will we have any greater confidence in the conclusions we draw? . or will we just listen to the loudest data? Lies, Damn Lies & Statistics Lies, Damn Lies & Big Data

  26. A s v i r t u a l r e a l i t y b e c o m e s o u r r e a l i t y a r e w e s u s c e p t i b l e t o m a n i p u l a t i o n ? Technology is easy, Technology is easy, trust is harder to come by, trust is harder to come by, and without trust there is little value. and without trust there is little value.

  27. Three thoughts Disruption does not respect history 1 Evaluate long-term trends, blips and predictions with equal weight The explosion of big data may overwhelm our ability to steward & make sense of it. We risk/are becoming untrusted. 2 Experiment early with frameworks for analysis test trust-making Information overload may result in simplistic, prejudiced sound-bite responses 3 Ensure the realisation of analysis is balanced & human-centred

  28. If you cant explain it simply, you dont understand it well enough. Albert Einstein
