In these updates shared by Tara Lockner, the Deputy Assistant Director at the Programs Division of Member Services, changes regarding Share of Cost (SOC) deductions in medical expenses are highlighted. The proposed modifications will now allow SOC deductions for medical services that would have been covered by AHCCCS if the customer had been eligible. Additionally, new SOC deductions related to garnishments such as court-ordered spousal and child support have been introduced as effective from April 1, 2018. The timeline for implementation of these changes and an open comment period are also outlined in the presentation.
