What is bullying? Bullying is hurting someone on purpose, over and over again. It can happen face to face with actions or with words or it can happen online through a phone, tablet or computer. Bullying can be shouting at or teasing another person. Bullying can be saying unkind things about someone s body. Bullying is hurting someone on purpose, over and over again. 2
What can you do Don't blame yourself: If you experience any kind of bullying, it s never your fault. You don t deserve to be treated badly by others and you should speak to an adult you trust about it. Bullies often want a reaction, so retaliating plays into their hands and could get you into trouble too. Take your time before responding. Save the evidence: Take screenshots and save messages so you have proof of what has happened. Tell someone what's happening talk to an adult you trust, like a parent or a teacher. Report, block, mute: Most social media sites have methods of blocking or muting others. Make sure you familiarise yourself with these tools. 3

This years theme is One Kind word Kindness is more important today than it has ever been before. The isolation of the last year has made us more aware of how little acts of kindness can brighten the lives of the people around us. Remember: Small actions make a huge impact.
