Main discussion Point Use one sentence to make it clear what this paragraph will be talking about. Evidence Explain what techniques are used to back up your point. Explanation Explain in detail what your techniques show the audience, their purpose and how this is relevant to the question
Example One way the director makes the audience feel afraid of Miss Trunchbull is when she is first introduced. During this scene the director uses low angle shots, long shots and sound effects to highlight how terrifying she is. The use of long shots as Miss Trunchbull is entering the playground allows the audience to see the reaction of the children. So it is clear that children are trying to run away and hide so that they don t have to be around her. This makes the audience feel afraid of what we will see and learn about Miss Trunchbull as it builds up the tension. Also before the audience clearly see Miss Trunchbull in full we hear the sound of her whip which creates fear in the audience as we are concerned about how she will use it. Finally the director uses low angle shots when Miss Trunchbull is bullying Amanda Thripp to make her look much bigger than the little girl and emphasise her power and authority. Therefore, this illustrates that Miss Trunchbull is a scary character who the audience would not want to encounter.

Conclusion Title Director Summary your points Link to the task
Example In conclusion in the film Matilda directed by Danny DeVito the audience is made to feel afraid of Miss Trunchbull. This is effectively created by the director through the introduction of her character, the fact she locks Matilda in the chokey and when she throws a boy out the window. However, at the end when the children get revenge I feel happy that she gets what she deserves. I enjoyed this film because it was interesting and the use of the different media techniques made the characters and their emotions really obvious.
