about how the local topography, natural resources, and
climate shape the lives of people in different countries.
DJ Summary: Learners write what they learned in the form
of a favorite song. Offer extra praise if they sing.
 
Instructional Activities
 
Wednesday, 12/11/19
Have students list some of the ways that Africa’s people
have had an impact on their local geography—for
example, drilling in Nigeria, deforestation in Ghana, and
habitat destruction in Uganda.
Explain that students will choose one country in the video
and write a short essay about the relationship between its
people and its geography. They can discuss how people
are affected by the land and climate, the impact people
have had on local geography, or both
