Founded by 12 concerned manufacturers, contract fillers and suppliers in 1963 Initially called Aerosol Manufacturers and Distributors Association Brief History Encouraged all those interested in the technology, safety and compliance to join CFC Free voluntary initiative 12 years before Ozone Depleting Substances were regulated in South Africa Introduction of Conformance Checks 3 Aerosol Manufacturers'Association South Africa
AMA has an Annual General Meeting once a year, where among other things the Executive Committee is elected At the 1st meeting of the Executive Committee The Chairman is elected, as well as a vice Chair and Honorary Treasurer The Board is also reviewed at the meeting, and leadership of key committees confirmed sustainability, regulatory and fees committee There is a Memorandum of Incorporation that guides the executive committee in its duties The fiduciary obligations are followed up by the Board and Finance Committee All attendees to meetings commit themselves to Anti-Trust obligations and sign off on the Register their commitment to conform All professional services, i.e. Executive Director, Accounts, Technical Consultant are contracted by the Association Governance and Structure 4 Aerosol Manufacturers'Association South Africa
The objectives of the Association are to formulate and improve regulatory and safety standards as well as to promote the benefits of aerosols and to be the recognised authority of the South African aerosol industry to ensure that the adoption of safety, health and environment standards are improved to the benefit of all stakeholders, including the consumers.
