tudents should do the following to prepare for Match Strategy Meetings:

Prepare a list of programs for ERAS application according to their competitiveness
and preferences within their speciality of choice. This includes:

Board Scores
○
Program characteristics
○
Geographic Considerations

Number of recommendation programs prepared:
○
10-15 Reach Programs- programs that are out of range of the student’s board
score, prestige of program or high level of competitiveness within the specialty
or program
○
10-15 Mid-Level Programs- programs within the student’s qualifications.
○
10-15 Safety Programs- Programs that are below the student’s qualifications
and can easily secure an interview.

Understand and articulate interest in the specialty and the programs on their list.
*** Safety programs are not transitional years at prestigious programs.***
