MEMORY VERSE: Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love . Revelation 2:4 TEXT: Revelation 2: 1-7
INTRODUCTION The devil uses various challenges and obstacles believers from loving Jesus till the end. to discourage Jesus loves us and wants us to continue our christian race till the end so that we can live with Him in heaven at last.
INTRODUCTION Because of the love Jesus has for His friends, He sent special messages to the 7 churches at the Isle of Patmos to: i. Reveal the spiritual condition of the church ii. Commend those following His steps iii. Warn those who have forsaken their first love for Christ or backslidden iv. Counsel and call those who have lost their first love to repent.

P.3: DEMAND FOR REPENTANCE AND RECOVERY OF FIRST LOVE Text: Revelation 2: 5-7,14-17,20-22; Isaiah 1: 18,19; 2 Cor 13:5 Although the church in Ephesus were diligent in laboring for the Lord, they were guilty of forsaking their love for God. God counselled them to do 3 things: a. Remember- remember the way it used to be in your relationship with me . Reflecting on the past helps us know where we have fallen. b. Repent- recognize that they have done wrong, be sorry and sincerely pray for forgiveness and restoration c. Renew- return to the first love they had for Christ and renew their commitment to God.
P.3: DEMAND FOR REPENTANCE AND RECOVERY OF FIRST LOVE We can renew our commitment to God by: a) Living a holy life everyday b) Being watchful and prayerful c) Showing love devotion to Christ d) Reading and meditating on God s word e) Separating from the world and its attractions Constantly obeying God s word. and genuine f)
